Group Programs
Group therapy offers something unique…connection. It’s a chance to share experiences, learn from others, and realise you’re not alone.
Growing with ADHD has been pioneered in house by our director, Nic, and Clinical Lead, Leah, in an attempt to fill a much needed gap in the current Canberra community support network. It aims to support ADHDers and their parents learn about the ADHD brain and how to grow with ADHD rather than ‘managing it’.
What is most special about this group is the passion that has gone into its creation and ongoing development. Both Nic and Leah have late diagnosed ADHD themselves, and specialise in the assessment and support of neurodivergence professionally. Furthermore, Nic has three beautiful ADHDers that she is parenting and all of these insights have created an honest, raw, supportive account of ADHD and what these brains need to thrive.
Growing with ADHD - Kids
This group is for kids with ADHD who want to better understand how their brains work—and learn ways to make it work for them. Through lots of fun, hands-on activities and group discussions, kids learn and practise skills in emotional regulation, supporting executive functioning, and social strategies in a supportive environment.
We focus on helping kids celebrate their unique strengths and grow confidence in themselves, showing that ADHD is a difference, not a deficit. In the group, they’re supported in a safe space with other kids who “get it,” where everyone can share, learn, and practise new skills without judgment. The goal is for each child to leave feeling capable, proud, and empowered to grow with their ADHD in their own way.
For kids with ADHD aged 8-12 years.
Sessions are 1.5 hours for 5 weeks.
Growing with ADHD - Parents
This group is for parents of ADHDers who want real support, practical strategies, and a space to connect with others going through the same challenges.
We’ll chat about what ADHD really is, how it affects your child, and ways to help them thrive—at home, at school, and in life. You’ll learn how to validate your child’s experience while still setting boundaries, advocate for them when needed, and help them grow confident in who they are. It’s all about giving you tools, boosting your confidence as a parent, and knowing you’re not alone.
For all parents with a child with ADHD – parents of AuDHDers are also very welcome.
Sessions are 1.5 hours for 6 weeks.
More Kids Groups:
Build to Heal
Our Build to Heal program is a LEGO Therapy social group using the Brick-by-Brick™ programme. This group gives kids a space to connect, create, and have fun while building together. Children will work as a team to design and build with LEGO—each child taking on an important role like builder, engineer, or supplier.
It’s not about “fixing” social skills. Instead, it’s about celebrating every child’s strengths, supporting their unique ways of communicating, and helping them feel confident and included. Along the way, kids practise teamwork, problem-solving, and communication—without it feeling forced. Mostly, it’s about having fun, making friends, and discovering the joy of creating something together.
For children aged 7-12 with social challenges who love LEGO!
Sessions are 1 hour for 6 weeks.
Beyond the Filter
This group is a safe, supportive space for young women (14–18 years) to explore body image, challenge unhelpful messages from modern media, and build a more positive relationship with themselves.
Using The Body Project, an evidence-based program, the group helps reduce body dissatisfaction and lowers the risk of eating disorders. We use a mix of group discussions, creative activities, and practical exercises (like role-plays and experiments) to make the learning real and empowering.
For young women aged 14-18 years with self-esteem and body image challenges.
Sessions are 1 hour for 6 weeks.
