Group Programs

Music Therapy

The Music Therapy group is a collaboration with Rhythm and Bloom for those 0-6, and 6-11 to help build social and regulation skills as self-expression, sharing, creativity and communication.

Music therapy is a research-based modality that supports people of all ages. Music therapy provides benefits for physical, emotional and social wellbeing. It is dynamic and flexible, allowing for children to participate who might have difficulties engaging in (or are too young for) traditional talk-therapy.

Music therapy at Feel to Heal involves both children and their parent/s. The children are engaged in various activities that incorporate music and movement. Parents attend to support their child when needed, and to learn, practice and model emotional regulation skills with their child.

The Music Therapy group is run for 1 hour each week over the course of 5 weeks.

Developed in the early 2000’s Lego-based therapy is an evidence based, neuro-affirming psychological intervention that promotes social interaction, sharing, collaborative problem solving and more!

Neurodivergent children sometimes find it challenging to understand what is expected of them in social situations, particularly within unstructured play activities, such as in a school setting. Our Lego therapy program is designed to create a nurturing and positive space promoting involvement in guided social problem-solving activities that help to develop important social, emotional, and language skills that can be used in a variety of situations.

During Lego therapy at Feel to Heal, your child will know precisely what to expect and what is expected of them every session due to the highly structures, small group environment. Neurodivergent children can feel calm, supported and encouraged to work toward their social goals while also doing something they enjoy!

The Lego Therapy group is run for 1 hour each week over the course of 6 weeks for children 8-10 and 11-13.

Circle of Security

The Circle of Security program is a supportive and informative group designed to enhance parent-child relationships. Over the course of the program, participants explore attachment theory and learn strategies to better understand and respond to their child’s needs. It typically includes engaging discussions, activities, and the opportunity to connect with other parents.

This program is beneficial for parents of children of all ages, helping to create nurturing environments that foster healthy emotional development.

The Circle of Security program is run for 1.5 hours each week over the course of 8 weeks.

The Confident Carers Cooperative Kids program is a Parenting Program for Parents & Carers Raising 3-11 year old Children with Problem Behaviours.

It has been developed to help parents and carers who for many reasons find themselves struggling with the child’s difficult behaviours.

Problem behaviours are shown by most, if not all, children from time-to-time. This is due in part to the fact that children often express how they feel through their behaviour. Some children display more severe problem behaviours that significantly interfere with how they get along with their family, friends and schoolwork.

The Confident Carers Cooperative Kids program helps parents/ carers to get back in touch with what is most important to them in their relationship with the child, to tune into the child’s individual temperament and needs, and to fine-tune their own responses to the child’s behaviour. This helps parents/ carers to feel more confident, encourages more positive behaviours in the children, creates more enjoyable and cooperative relationships, and helps parents/ carers to manage the difficult moments in family life.

The Confident Carers Cooperative Kids program is run for 1.5hours each week over the course of 7 weeks with three Psychologists.
