Registered Psychologist

Karuna Nair

BPhil (Hons), PhD(ClinPsych) Candidate

I am a registered psychologist at Feel to Heal Psychology. I’m originally from India but spent most of my life growing up in Perth (Boorloo).

Creating a warm and inclusive environment in therapy is my main priority, and I use a collaborative and strengths-based approach. I am passionate about working with members of LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC communities that I’m also part of, as well as providing affirming and culturally inclusive support to neurodivergent clients and First Nations peoples.

My training has been grounded in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy used transdiagnostically, and I have supported a wide range of clients with diverse needs. I have particular experience working with body image and disordered eating concerns, informed by my PhD research on positive body image in a social media context. I am especially interested in helping people navigate the impact of social media in ways that support rather than harm mental health.

I bring an intersectional feminist perspective to my work, and I’m committed to tailoring therapy so that people feel seen, respected, and empowered.

Outside of work, you’ll find me pole dancing, reading, binge-watching a good TV show, or spending time with my wonderful friends.
