Provisional Psychologist

Pixie Richard-Sephton

BPsych(Hons), PhD (Clinical Psychology) Candidate

Hey, I’m Pixie!

I’m a provisional psychologist who supports people across all ages, including children, adolescents, and adults. I take an empathetic, collaborative, curious, and strengths-based approach, aiming to create a safe, open, and inclusive space where clients can feel understood and supported. I strive to be a neurodivergent-affirming, LGBTQIA+, and identity-affirming therapist, and to take a trauma-informed approach to support the unique needs of each individual.

As a late-diagnosed autistic therapist, I am passionate about supporting neurodivergent folk – including those who are autistic, ADHD, AuDHD or otherwise – to deepen their understanding of themselves, including their strengths, needs, challenges, experiences, and sense of identity. I believe that self-understanding and acceptance can enhance well-being and help us build a life that honours and supports our brains, values, and neurotypes. My other clinical interests include experiences of trauma and emotion dysregulation, and I am excited to further develop my skills in assessments, particularly for autism and ADHD. I also support clients of all ages who may be experiencing a range of emotional and behavioural challenges.

I draw on a range of evidence-based approaches in my therapeutic work, aiming to adapt my methods to suit the needs of each individual. While my training is grounded in emotion-focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness, I also integrate aspects of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), motivational interviewing and Dialectical Behaviour informed Therapy (DBT) to provide a flexible and supportive approach.

Outside of clinical work, if I’m not working on my PhD in Clinical Psychology you’ll find me playing with my dog Tojo, spending time with friends and family, going to a yoga class, or rewatching my comfort show for the 100th time.
