Layal Dia
Registered Psychologist
MProfPsych
G’day, I’m Layal! I am a Lebanese Australian who was born and raised here, with the privilege of enjoying many Kousa dinners growing up (cooking it is another story).
At Feel to Heal, I’m also a registered psychologist who spends my days supporting people with navigating things like anxiety, depression, identity questions, school pressures and avoidance, tough emotions, and all sorts of stress. A lot of my work draws from my background of working with young people navigate the general chaos of being a human between 12 and 25 years old; although, I have a keen interest in working with humans of all ages and walks of life.
I believe the magic in the therapeutic space happens when it feels human, so I show up as myself: empathetic, grounded, fully prepared to laugh, validate, reframe, or metaphor my way through whatever a session needs. Alongside that, I currently draw from evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). My aim is to take a collaborative approach to the tough, painful stuff that someone brings to session and unpack it together.
Outside of work hours, you’ll usually find me doing my best to take care of my indoor plants, tending to my pixel farm in Stardew Valley, or rearranging furniture in Animal Crossing as if Tom Nook is grading my interior design.
