Registered Psychologist

Hi, I'm Suze,

I am a psychologist who works with children, adolescents and adults. I value warmth and genuine connection in therapy, while also bringing a thoughtful, evidence-based approach to understanding what is happening and what might help. I want people to feel comfortable being themselves while also feeling that our work together has direction and purpose.

Before becoming a psychologist, I worked in education, including early childhood settings, and I have always especially enjoyed working with children and families. That background sparked a lasting interest in how people learn, develop and make sense of the world around them. The same curiosity has continued through my PhD research, which explores attention and how people notice and interpret information. I also have a particular interest in psychological assessment and in using it to build a clearer picture of a person's strengths, difficulties and the factors shaping their experience.

My therapeutic work is primarily informed by Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), while also drawing on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and a Schema-informed approach where appropriate. I value understanding not only the difficulty someone is experiencing, but also how it developed, what may be keeping it going and what might help shift things. From there, I use evidence-based approaches in a way that fits the person, their circumstances and what they want to work towards.

Outside of psychology, I love travelling, snowboarding, football (the soccer kind) and getting absorbed in creative projects. I also have a tendency to enthusiastically organise family adventures that become considerably more elaborate than they ever needed to be.
