Wynne Van Der Walt
Provisional Psychologist
Hi, I’m Wynne!
I am a provisional psychologist who enjoys working with children, adolescents, and adults as they navigate a wide range of life experiences and challenges. My approach is warm, non‑judgemental and collaborative, with a focus on creating a space where you can feel heard, understood, and supported as we work towards your goals together.
When working with children and young people, I take particular care to listen to their voices and discover their unique interests, meeting them where they are at. I aim to make therapy engaging, fun, and rewarding, so that moving forward feels like something we do together.
I am currently completing my final year of a Master of Clinical Psychology and am trained in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and have a strong interest in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). I value evidence‑based, neurodiversity‑affirming practice and enjoy tailoring strategies to each person’s strengths, values, and circumstances.
Outside of work, life is full with my family and our three dogs. I love travelling, walking, reading, sewing and crocheting, and joining my family in their varied interests—whether that’s karate, go‑karting, historical dramas, aviation, musical theatre, snorkelling, or re‑watching The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter series together.
